Hopefully not much longer to wait!
This Oncostele Eye Candy 'Pinkie' has been working on its spike since mid August!
The lower buds have fattened up and have some colour now. Still no signs of opening yet, if it keeps up this pace I might get a flowering at Christmas.

Well grown Diane, now you just need to post some pics when it flowers.

Re: Hopefully not much longer to wait!
I will.
The suspense is killing me! Using Google image search I've been able to see lots of photos and videos but the colours seem to vary from candy pink to salmon pink through to a deep red and moving towards burgundy.
Even write-ups call the blooms pink as the name suggests but the sometimes the accompanying photo is a lot darker than pink.
I don't know if this is just the photos not carrying the colour correctly or the colour range of the plant itself.
Don't know anyone local who is growing it so I have nothing to compare.

Nice flowering Diane, you should be happy with it, now if it was easier to get more Odont's here in Australia, I am sure you would be growing many more onto beautiful specimens.

Diane, sorry to rain on your parade a little. I know the Hilo AOS judging is a bit incestuous with several "Oilcan Harry's" receiving questionable awards.... In your case, I'm 99% certain that your plant is actually Burrageara Eye Candy 'Penny Candy'. It's to my eye, the superior of the two awarded selections from the hybrid. I believe you can expect an impressive inflorescence when your plant improves. It is a relatively recent hybrid.

Irrespective of name, I like, the same applies to odont access in NZ. There is a small group of odont enthusiasts who have been making crosses of the older style of odonts but access is not that easy as they seem to be selling through a local orchid nursery whose icing does nothing to increase the number of growers.

I have no idea on the correct name Diane, but your flowering is great and well worth the wait.

After looking at some images of Burrageara Eye Candy 'Penny Candy' I think so too.
Given the amount of photos I've looked at for this named plant I'm thinking there must have been a naming error along the way somewhere. I first saw it on a video and it definitely had a pink colour. Others, as I mentioned in my first comment have varied widely in colour and here I have one that is virtually brown and yellow.
I'm not complaining, for its first flowering effort it's still a lovely blooming and the leaves are very clean too.
Looks like an addition to my database notes is required.
