Hopefully not much longer to wait!

Post by Diane56Victor »

This Oncostele Eye Candy 'Pinkie' has been working on its spike since mid August!
The lower buds have fattened up and have some colour now. Still no signs of opening yet, if it keeps up this pace I might get a flowering at Christmas.

Well grown Diane, now you just need to post some pics when it flowers.

I will.
The suspense is killing me! Using Google image search I've been able to see lots of photos and videos but the colours seem to vary from candy pink to salmon pink through to a deep red and moving towards burgundy.
Even write-ups call the blooms pink as the name suggests but the sometimes the accompanying photo is a lot darker than pink.
I don't know if this is just the photos not carrying the colour correctly or the colour range of the plant itself.
Don't know anyone local who is growing it so I have nothing to compare.
