Andy,

I also am a member of the Clivia forum that is based in South Africa, and there you can elect beside your name when it shows on a posting the State, province or county you are living along with the country. I find this helpful when reading answers and questions people have posted knowing where they live in trying to understand other people's problems, queries and answers or why they are growing something in a totally different way to the norm for instance.

Maybe this would be helpful here. It is up to the person whether they elect to provide the info when they sign up and I am aware of the fact that others may want to keep a low profile or not elect to divulge the area where they are living for some reason.

I know I would find it helpful in answering or commenting on some posts. You might know where every member is from but I certainly don't and I am sure a lot of other members wouldn't either.

Like to hear your thoughts on this and also from other members.

Gary if you go to the User Control Panel you can input your location and it will appear on the right of all your posts. My posts show my location, and I agree it is a great help when reading other peoples posts.
