Well another one come and gone. Likely the last one. I've heard the reports, only two programs worth listening to, Calum Wilson and Randall Robinson. Just as well the virus from Australia issue was well-aired because there was a report last week of OFV in The Netherlands directly traceable to Valley Orchid's stock. Only surprise for me was that anyone in that country was still naive enough to buy anything from them!
Poorly attended CSA dinner/auction. Lots of negative feedback on a Hudlow Medal for Terry Root. OK, he has been the seminal Paphiopedilum hybridizer in the USA for the past quarter-century but what has he actually done for the CSA? Absolutely nothing and Paphs have always been a pimple on the backside of the organization, a sort of embarrassing relative you try and not notice.

Hi Andy
As I live here in Aus. you wont catch me buying anything from Valley orchids, nor for that fact from a few other nurseries here for various reasons.
Cheers

Gary,
That's smart and also tells you why Valley went out of business. The poor hobbyists, especially in SA, got all the OFV they could handle and a little more!

Re: CSA Congress
I'm feeling flush after not having to pay out $250 to someone for beating Squogre in the Best Cut Cymbidium spray at this year's SB Show. Of course it was supposed to have been a standard and the Squogre-spray was an intermediate..... Duh! But anyone want to bet me $100 that the CSA will have a Congress in 2014? First one in gets the bet on and if they are a NHO Form member I'll throw in another $100 worth of NHO seedlings should they prove me wrong in my prediction that "On-Time" and her poorly-attended event are history.

Re: CSA Congress
I would Andy , but if I won it would not be worth it in trying to get the seedlings through our Aussie AQIS system.
One for your US members to prove you wrong
