I was contacted last evening and told to check out "BIB's" website. Sure enough, he has removed the earlier picture of a 4n Cooper Point from our breeding and replaced it with a photo of a woeful diploid form provided by Dr. Randall Robinson ("Chuckie"). What twit does not speak about is that the original diploid Cooper Point lasts in bloom about 14 days only. I never made the diploid but this information was confirmed by the original hybridizer! So "BIB" is trying to persuade people to buy something that at best will probably produce 25% converted tetraploids that could bloom around 2016 at best. Talk about taking on NASCAR with a Model A Ford! Any sane person should run screaming from this sort of rubbish, By 2016, we will have bloomed at least two generations beyond Cooper Pont 4n and believe me, there's no going back. I'm going to make another confident prediction.... by 2016, "BIB" will be long-gone from Cymbidium crossing. It's only three years so watch this space.
