This fertile tetraploid intermediate has a very mixed parentage. We selected two from the cross that were distinctly bicolor in appearance. Not the more common type of bicolor where the flower segments are one color with a darker central area but the reverse where the pale flower is flushed more darkly on the flower segment margins. Last year we sent off a pod from this flower with a dark rose tetraploid intermediate that is the same type of bicolor. It went to Floricultura however so any selections may take some years to hit the market. As the plant is in fresh bloom now, April 15, we will probably make at least one hobbyist-type crossing onto it this year. The other selection blooms in late February and is holding a pod made with a lovely pink miniature Little Fire offspring.
No, I'm totally innocent! The name was a "hybrid" name using part of the name of each parent and was registered on our behalf by Mukoyama Orchids. We bred both the parents but named neither!
