Travel
A busy time but l must see the late Cyms in Holland and Turkey so a short visit is vital. Ruiter Orchids are going from strength to strength with exciting new seedlings especially valuable in latter April. Turkey will be an exciting addition to both cut flower and pot plant ranks. Change is ever-constant!

You are a devil for punishment!.
But, the late part of the Cymbidium season has been neglected somewhat for a few decades. Particularly in the cut flower area, so hopefully some pollen, or more, will go back home with you.You will appreciate your efforts in hindsight.

Funny you should make this comment.... Bert and I concocted a plan just this morning to breed late red Cyms!

It’s always nice to have a buddy to swap notes with, share pollen, and “shoot the breeze” on breeding trends.

Our small group is having a lot of fun. We complement each other's efforts.
The tension is building as the 6n X 2n's approach maturity. Theories abound in orchid hybridizing so we are all waiting to see if we're heading towards true advancement. I'm trying three avenues. Tetraploids that are strongly WT influenced by the 6n parent crossed to a 2n WT type. WT Tetraploids that are somewhat less WT influenced by the regular diploid parent and 4n's where the 6n parent is a quality regular Cym and the 2n is a quality standard diploid. All three avenues should be very rewarding!
