Annual Torture…….

Every year either before Christmas or New Year, she who insists on being obeyed, makes me endure a manicure and pedicure! The only upside is that in Colombia, the hourlong process costs just $10.00 US, including the tip. To add insult to injury, l’m now at the car wash! My lifelong policy on car washing is: Once a year whether the car needs it or not! What a waste of a morning when l could have been watching TV…..not. If anyone thinks l hate spending time in Bogota, you know me well.

At the insistence of The Boss I have to go through this “hand & feet routine” every 6 weeks. My consent this was made conditional on qualified Thai hand and foot massage applied after working on the nails, calluses etc. I could narrowly avoid an arrangement for flashy nail lacquer applied to my feet, but otherwise am positively enjoying the recurring routine. And after a while visiting the same Thai family I’ve become part of their extended circle of loved ones - also not too bad as I am now getting showered by the girls with beautiful examples of Thai cuisine. Life can be good !
