A few months ago I asked for help in getting a plant of Wilsonara Warm Memories 'Wild Fire' to bloom. It was a big, lush plant but had not flowered. The consensus was that the plant should be divided so I divided it into 4 divisions and here is the result:-

Three plants in bloom and the fourth doing its best to follow on. Thanks to all who helped :D

I also found this to be true with Cymbidium Yvonne Engelmann. It was a rather cramped plant in a 6 inch pot. It bloomed every year but with only one spike. I divided the plant into 4 plants. Two of the larger divisions were placed in 6 inch pots. The other two were placed in 4 inch pots. The two plants in 4 inch pots both have two spikes. So far the larger divisions in 6 inch pots have as yet no spikes.

I thought you said you couldn't grow Odontoglossum Alliance plants, Terry. Nothing wrong with those plants so you must be mightily encouraged. Amazing what a repot does to stimulate some plants. Keep it up.

Nigel can I say first of all say how good it is to have you back in full flow :D
I must however take you to task for suggesting that some may think me past my prime. I am coming up to 71 early next year this will be followed (hopefully) by 73 and 79 in years to come. Now anyone who knows anything about maths will know that 71, 73 and 79 are all prime numbers so I can accurately state that I am in fact heading into my primes not past it!

Terry, were you a Math's teacher in your youth. Enjoy your upcoming prime years but do stay safe and vigilant over there for you upcoming Winter.
