Bermagui x Pharlap

Post by GaryCAZ »

This magnificent Light Matsumoto hybrid was deemed unworthy of an AOS award for its owner/breeder by some woefully inept AOS judges, supposedly because of fertilizer/water marks on all the flowers. Take a good look and mark my words when I say that something stinks in certain AOS judging regions!

Thanks Gary! It is Salabat's photo. Spelling is Bermagui for the purists.

Andy

Sounds like the standard of orchid judging has gone down hill a long way in more than one country then.

I have sore eyes from looking at my monitor trying to see the water marks on the flowers.

This is exactly the reason why so many good hobby growers do not show orchids any more, as they can not put up with the rubbish that judges come up with these days. It is not what you know but who you know I'm afraid these days when it comes to showing orchids.

Gary.

Very impressive cultivar - anyone would be proud to own this plant.

Looks good to me, but I'm no judge.
