I might as well make a night of it and give you the low-down on another cheat. We bred and bloomed a very good Cym called Cali Night 'Geyserland'. It was cloned and as it was a triploid, we sold bits of it to several commercial orchidists. The large piece we sold to Loren Batchman for $175.Good deal, we had sold the clones widely and I was happy. Then some bastard who had obviously obtained one of the clones, showed the plant under a phony name, Cym Cali Night 'Newbold Magic' in Victoria and got it awarded. No doubt at all that the 2008 award was to one of the clones sourced as I recall, from Kevin Butler.

Anyway this fat fraud, Stebbings is his name, is an ongoing disgrace to the orchid industry and unfortunately is still conning inexperienced orchid growers right up to the present. May he and his ilk, rot in Hell!

Interesting. It's in Europe, the US and Asia. Now, we would treat all 3n crossings as a matter of course and use the hexaploid results in a very exciting avenue.
