Gordon Gibbs' Black Velvet'

Post by Albert Nakaji »

aloifolium x Cabernet. ''Black Velvet' is one of my favorites for intensity of color and very compact growth. Got clones from Bob Burkey ("Kamuela" on old Forum). Will be using this for the compact size, color, and warmth tolerance.

Incorrectly posted as 'Dashing', but Bob corrected me.

Albert. What a striking colour. I have a young plant crossing G Gibbs and parishii. About a year off flowering I think. It should have lots of heat tolerance.
Nice photo too.

Personally I think GG 'Dashing' 4n is by far the best of our crossing but all of them have some interesting qualities.
