A superb lip and just about the best pink Cym I have seen here so far - I am generally not into pinks, but this one is an exception for me.

Well l haven’t said how l came up with this name. Sad story. SP was a student at U of Oregon when we lived in Eugene. He was a phenomenal athlete at around the half mile. I believe we both owned E-type Jaguars. There was a really tricky bend locally which l was lucky to be warned about. Steve lost control and was killed in the resultant accident. Tragic loss of a great athlete. I always intended to name a Cym in his memory and this one was good enough finally!

It is always enlightening to hear the story behind the names on many of your crosses Andy - although this one is sad to say the least.

I knew the name from watching the movie "Prefontaine" a few years ago. That's a great way to honor his memory Andy.

I remember how shocked Eugene was when the news broke. I’m afraid l didn’t learn a lesson either, a couple of months later l was driving my Dad over to a condominium we used to enjoy in Bend, OR with the top down and l was doing 117 mph! Have never gone faster since…..
