Onc Tigers Gold x Duggers Gold
As a post came up about yellow odont’s I thought I would show this plant bought from Mather Foundation earlier this year. Only a baby but I think it has a wow factor and growing really well

Is the low flower count only due to the seedling size?

What I find most encouraging about this is that you bought it from the Mathers Foundation. Slowly we are starting to see more plants becoming available within the UK.

Don't count your blessings too soon Terry. A few months ago I asked for help purchasing +/- 50 plants either direct or through their next import and received a very swift rebuke that they are a charity not a trading nursery. I know they do occasionally sell their choice "selected" plants to those who are willing to pay premium prices. Does little to encourage lesser mortals without bottomless pockets to maintain and develop personal collections of Odontoglossums. All this despite our own examples of heritage crosses.
My next steps were to explore a direct import but, again, came up against a brick wall with DEFRA. OK, things are more complicated after BREXIT but they had absolutely no intention of helping an amateur, and even my source in Colombia could not get the information for what he needed as the exporter.
It looks like we amateur Odontoglossum enthusiasts are pretty much stuffed apart from producing our vegetative own propagations. I have to say that on that front mine have been fairly successful in the last 12-18 months. It keeps interest stimulated!

Richard, that puts a very different perspective on the whole operation. I was never a great fan of the EYOF for that reason. Yes they are a charity but who do they help, apart from themselves?

Has anyone here heard of Tiger Hambühren 4n 'Mieke'. Not sure if the clonal name is correctly spelt.

Yes, all my Odcdm Tiger Hambuhren hybrids were made with this mutated 4n that I found in a group of the diploid clones. It is still in the US, specifically at Robert Culver's greenhouse in Seattle.

Just to let you guys know that I have a very small lab at home with a horizontal flow cabinet and i'll always sow some of your seeds if you send them to me. Currently I have a cross of Odontioda Teipel’s Mowaranch x Odontioda Rigdon that I made in early April, the pod is Huge but not ripe yet. I made this cross just to see if I could do it.
