Hi, and here is a question for the brains trust....!!
I managed to find a plant this week which was labelled Cym. Houghton (Balkis x Volcano). Now this is clearly mislabelled, so I was wondering if anyone had some clues? Allegedly purchased from Syd Monkhouse or Stephen Monkhouse quite some years ago in Adelaide and further investigation is being done there...
It is a basal spike, about 80cm long, upright until the first flower then arching (almost cascading). Flowers are held above the foliage, and I thought there was a very faint perfume, but it’s too cold here to be sure. 14 flowers from a single medium sized bulb. I’m thinking Cym. Pauwelsii maybe…..
I know it’s too hard to confirm, so I'm just looking for opinions but it’s fairly distinctive. Has the spike height of insigne as a parent….and length of lowianum....
I'd be very keen to know peoples thoughts. Thanks.

That lip is 100% Cym Pauwelsii so I think you're right on the mark.
