Thanks for the reply Andy, why would not one of those large Dutch producers take it on then, I am sure they would have the resources, money, knowhow and sales volume I would have thought.

Hi Gary.

So you do have a Laelia that is truly that colour - very nice indeed.

Lc Camhamiana 'Azure Sky' is probably what's in the image. That is the correct color.

I don't grow Catts, but the colour sure does tempt you.

I assume it is warm growing?

The orchid in the picture is l. canhamiana '6686', grows outside year round seeing 28 F. to 120 F temperatures. Under Aluminet always and protected from winter rains and hard freezes by visqueen.

Andy,
What would it cost and how much time to produce a blue cymbidium?

Andy, that is only petty cash to you guys isn't it.

I see The half brother to Black Caviar will be for sale at the William Ingliss yearling sales coming up soon. Do you have $3.6M to $4m to part with ?

We could have a NH syndicate!!

The horse is Lot 131 actually if you are really interested!!
A stallion out of the mother of Black Caviar standing at stud - only an hours drive from me here covered 20 mares this season at $200k a pop - doing the maths that is $4M return in 1 season. Beats trying to make money out of orchids.
