Ask questions! That's what this Forum is for.... Visual testing mainly, it is easy with treated diploid flasks (Oryzalin) as the 4n's have 1/3 wider roots and heavier substance segments. Same for triploid flasks that we treat with Oryzalin. I have yet to bloom any of the putative 4n's from 6n X 2n crossings but they're growing sweetly and seem quite even so far. Hope all is well as there's a load coming!

Left field question on ploidy, is the ploidy determined from plant/flower characteristics or from nuclear DNA testing?

The innocent apologise.

Not at all! Eternal Flame was 4n and better color than this one and the other parent, Kirby Lesh was also tetraploid and more of a pink but large and well-shaped.

So your original cross was with 2N parents?

Brian, I'm not sure where to go with this one... Our standards are so well-developed already. May just clone it for a specialty market.

I am taking quite a liking for this orchid. Lovely matching colour combination and a touch of quality about this flower
